| Ed Jones is perhaps the most well know name in the is this beautifully recorded free improv recorded at Leeds Conservatoire in 2020, and the music clearly shows his jazz heritage
In many ways it reminds me of many of the great drum saxophone black American free jazz duos
it has the intensity without anger, musical, density with restraint, in fact its very subtle introduction to an exciting new duo. Emil Karlsen is a fine collaborator sounding some times like John Stevens and Elvin or Rahied Ali and uses interesting and stimulating percussion combinations
This is their debut album but I hope it won't be their last! great stuff |
